Mr. Arthur
graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of Business
Administration and a Master of Business Administration, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. During his legal studies, Mr. Arthur was a student editor for The International Lawyer published by The American Bar Association (ABA). |

Mr. Arthur started out his career as a foreign legal advisor to the Samsung Group in Seoul, Korea for two years. As a staff lawyer in the General Council's office, Mr. Arthur worked on hundreds of matters relating to business transactions, licensing agreements and joint venture projects around the world. At the Samsung Group, Mr. Arthur worked on projects ranging up to U.S. $250,000 million. Mr. Arthur also advised on international litigation matters as well. After returning to the U.S., Mr. Arthur worked for the law firm of Bennett & Kurtzman for one year, where Mr. Arthur was recruited to lead the firms new international section. Mr. Arthur advised on business transactions, incorporation matters and assisted in research on intellectual property and commercial litigation cases. To this day, Mr. Arthur still has clients in Texas who seek his counsel on international business transactions and disputes. In 1993, Mr. Arthur left Texas to join Charles Law in forming a new law firm in Northern California that would have a business and international focus under the name Law & Arthur. Mr. Arthur has worked on business contracts, corporation law, international tax planning, intellectual property rights, employment law, and litigation matters for the law firm. On May 1, 2000, Mr. Arthur left Law & Arthur to form Arthur and Associates, Attorneys at Law where his new firm continues to work with start-up and international hi-tech companies. Often Arthur and Associates essentially serves as those companies' general counsel. Mr. Arthur is a frequent speaker on legal subjects and has been a guest speaker for California State Bar, San Francisco Bar Association's Asia Pacific Committee, Bay Area World Trade Center (Director-Asia Pacific Business Alliance; Panelist- International Trade Advisory Panel), Center for International Trade Development, Various Bay Area Trade Fairs, San Francisco State University, John F. Kennedy MBA Program, Chinese Semiconductor Engineers Association, and the Tai Pai Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Arthur has articles published in various periodicals including The International Lawyer and CCNAA Science Newsletter. |
